It's about as good a draw as we could have got and whatever team we put out should be good enough to win. Only slight note of caution is that they are flying this season. Can be tricky playing teams full of confidence, even from lower divisions.

If anything it will probably make it easier if they come and have a go. We've struggled this season with teams piling everybody behind the ball, so if they come and try to play a bit, I think we should batter them.

I just hope we don't get too far ahead of ourselves. Can you imagine what it would be like to play in the Fourth Round? Magical stuff. Please don't fuck it up, Villa.

In my lifetime the 2002 experience was the most horrendous I can recall feeling after a cup game.

We might be bad AV82EC, but I reckon even we must have drawn or won the odd game since 1957...

Well, yes of course and on the flip side to abject misery I've enjoyed the cup runs to some of these games immensely.

Completely forgotten about Sheff U in 13/14. So that's two home defeats to third tier teams in the last decade. Suddenly I'm nervous.

It's almost tragic that if we do achieve it, you only get to enjoy it for a few weeks before the big day comes.

1992 was my first real gut wrenching disappointment with Villa.  I was 11.

1959 and 1960 were great disappointments for me.  Two semi-finals one after the other.  I was deeply traumatised to the point that I don't think I've still not got over it.  I was at both.

Was that Wimbledon one after a replay?
I remember Cascarino missing an absolute sitter.

We lost to the eventual winners every season from 58/59 to 62/63. Admittedly there is a 50/50 chance of this when you lose the semi final.

After that, years we lost to the eventual winner are 76, 77, 80, 82, 92, 00, 04, 10, 11 and 15.
