And also this is no shit Brighton side, they’ve beaten man u away, drawn with Liverpool away, battered Chelsea at home etc etc. this is a very very good result.

When did we last come from behind (ooh!) to win an away game?

Rotherham?

Bolton in the LC.

In the league it was Spurs, May 2021.

Sat far too deep second half.

Brighton have showed a bit of cutting edge to go with their nice approach play this season. But that looked like old Brighton.

Our defenders grew into the game after a sloppy start and 1-11 we possessed a resilience not usually associated with us. Will take it as a base to build from.

This was an excellent result.  I always felt we were the better side. When they pressed it was a lot of huff and puff but our mobility and invention was far more incisive.  We have the quality and it's looking positive.

Only saw the second half.

Great defending and game management.

Been lacking that steel for about 20 years.

I think we're beginning to see a bit of belief in our players. Well done everyone and long may it continue.

It felt like we were hanging on but we weren’t. Great battling display. For once in a very long time we looked like we’ve been coached. More of the same please Unai.

Didn’t get the Digne penalty shout by Sky. He wasn’t even looking at the man when he swung his leg to clear. No doubt that’s what VAR saw as well.

You could argue the challenge was reckless by the brighton player for the non-penalty too.

Yep. Digne was trying to kick the ball. The Brighton bloke went in foot up.

The difference is that under Gerrard, being in the situation we were in the later stages of that game, protecting a lead away from home, we'd have been reliant entirely on the players putting bodies on the line to see the game out.

Under Emery, it feels like we've got so much more than that from the bench, intelligent game management and not just crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.

Brighton is- pleasing on the eye without a lot of penetration.  Hopefully over time our possesion will improve and can control a game better.  Saying that a dogged organised performance today
