I think that was the very  definition of 'winning ugly'.

Better result than last Sunday for me, that.  Especially after going one down so early, under Gerrard we'd just have collapsed like a cheap tent and they'd have got 3 or 4.  Shame about the bloody WC just as we're hitting form but what can you do.

All Hail Dr Unai Emery Shithouse the Third!

I'd rather try and win the game 3 or 4 -1 but realistically, pragmatism will always win the day and given where we are grinding a result is absolutely the way to go.

Can't wait for the next game now! Oh......

Even Lil’ Lee thinks it was a Pen against Digne, so what do I know
I would have been screaming for it up the other end if one of ours was kicked

I thought it was a pen via replays, but it happened too fast for a ref to be sure enough to give it in real time. I was therefore positive it wouldn’t be overturned.

Shithousery to see out the game but fuck it. We found a way to win from a difficult start. Great way to enter the break.
we do it and it's terrible, the like of Leicester do it and not a word,so Jamie Carragher go and  off

I've just noticed that we've gained exactly half of our total points this season from the last 4 games. That's some indictment of the last fella.

my thoughts first time in the replays but the Brighton player also makes contact as well and was it decided it's fifty fifty

A cracking result, after a shocking start. I felt we were comfortable throughout & Brighton offered very little. Once we went ahead we closed the game out. I'll take a shithouse win over a plucky defeat anytime.

Emery shut down the threats by making the right subs at the right time.

Special mention to Kamara, who I thought was excellent.

When did we last come from behind (ooh!) to win an away game?

3 games, 3 game plans, 2 executed perfectly, 1 not so good….would have taken 100% that after Newcastle.

When you execute the game plan to the tee it’s a class performance….not pretty on the eye but ruthlessly effective….well done!

A dirty ugly dogs of war type win….loved it!!

Ive posted that i think McGinns time is probably up, but he battled well today and i dont think he gave the ball away anymore than say Kamara. I thought Kamara was a rolls royce for 60 mins, but then tired and got sloppy, i would of taken him iff instead of Dougie, who i thought mistake for the first goal aside, played well.  But Emery knows what he’s doing so hey!

I think the fact Digne didnt know the Brighton player was there probably helped with the penalty shout as there was clearly not intent to kick the player.

Carragher was so biased in the commentary throughout, we sacked your mate, get over it twat.

You could argue the challenge was reckless by the brighton player for the non-penalty too.
