Guess the lack of a third European competition for most of the last thirty years mean there hasn't been the opportunity.

Probably a few who have done the two that were available. Simeone's done the CL final and won the Europa with Atletico as the one that springs to mind.

I love these arguments that could be instantly solved by Google. But we don’t, and I don’t ever want us to change.

Ferguson won the CWC and CL but from memory the few times they were in the Uefa they were shit, I seem to remember them losing to Videoton, which I thought was a great name when I first heard it.

In three different European comps too - has any manager done that with the same club?

Irish legend Giovanni Trapattoni not only got to the quarter-finals of 3 European competitions with Juventus, he won them.

And won nothing with them that they didn't pay for.

Kind of highlights the slim pickings we’ve had the previous 4 decades or so and what a comparatively golden era we’re currently enjoying.

Carragher can fucking do one, the spitty, stupid-voiced prick.

I quite agree!

Google what’s that? Never heard of it.

Which reminds me, when I’m at work and my wife says to me I haven’t put the phone number on the job sheet or quickbooks and asks me how to get hold of them.

Ffs sake, google it!

Videoton was under Atkinson. They played twice in the UEFA Cup under that name while Ferguson was there and both times went out in the first round to a Russian team (Torpedo Moscow and Rotor Volgograd). They played once under him in the renamed Europa League and beat Ajax before getting knocked out by Bilbao in Round Two.

His decision to try and play the same way without SJM, Kamara and Yuri has completely backfired.

It's a very cunning plan. So as we don't have to keep fighting the financial restrictions of UEFA, we're trying to not qualify for Europe.

If we miss the CL I can see that too.

Garcia on the right wing and Bogey at right back is bonkers.

A lot of things need freshening up in the summer - especially recruitment.

I don't think he wil go. I think he will do at least one more year.

Who knows? If we somehow win the Europa it would make a massive difference.
