Emery really is not all that, I’ve said it before and I stand by it.

Emery has been fantastic coaching the players he inherited,

100 wins from 181 games.

55% winning percentage.

A grade D+ (C-) or a solid 2.2 at uni.

Not bad, but he should be demanding of himself in his way to achieve first class honours.

55% is staggeringly good, isn't it, considering the team and position he inherited?  Klopp's reign at Liverpool is generally considered a success, included a league title, three domestic cups and a Champions League, and his win percentage was only 62%.  Which is like, one more win than Unai every 15 games.

I hope to God we can keep him long enough to break the back of building a commercial operation commensurate with regular European football, and then give him the tools and financial muscle needed to back him properly.

We're approaching a 4th season of European football.
Is suggest that your opinion is in the minority.

I am concerned he will leave but he has given us so much, not perfect and frustrating sometimes, but passoand intelligent.
Another boost of belief and we will start knocking in goals from everywhere again

Harsh indeed, he's a solid enough poster, and is in his late 50s by the looks of it, so it may just be dementia kicking in.

Have a heart.

Fantastic achievement from a fantastic manager who has more silverware the past decade than we have in five.

Yet week by week a persistent minority attack him for 'not making subs', or 'not being all that' or his team selection. As if he hasn't analysed the fuck out of it before making his selection.

It's absurd. He knows what he's doing and is delivering season after season despite all the constraints we have as a club. Maybe pause for thought and appreciation before posting such bollocks.

Well both things can be true can’t they. He is a fantastic manager, has completely lifted us up to another level, and he’s one of the best manager’s in the club’s history. A couple of trophies and he’s in the conversation for the pound for pound best.

I agree anyone saying “he’s not all that” etc is daft (if people do say that). But it’s simultaneously possible he gets things wrong - he’s human. The selection, particularly Mings starting, against Chelsea was an error and it was highlighted pre-game and came to pass. Corrected in last night’s game and we were much better structured. It’s fine to highlight these things, and it’s a key part of a fan forum to have some debate, it doesn’t mean that someone doesn’t value Unai or thinks he’s brilliant. There’s the odd troll, but most people are more balanced than that.
