100 wins from 181 games.

55% winning percentage.

A grade D+ (C-) or a solid 2.2 at uni.

Not bad, but he should be demanding of himself in his way to achieve first-class honours.

55% is staggeringly good, isn't it, considering the team and position he inherited?  Klopp's reign at Liverpool is generally considered a success, included a league title, three domestic cups and a Champions League, and his win percentage was only 62%.  Which is like, one more win than Unai every 15 games.

I hope to God we can keep him long enough to break the back of building a commercial operation commensurate with regular European football, and then give him the tools and financial muscle needed to back him properly.

Which is like, one more win than Unai every 15 games.

…. Or consistent refereeing

Hilarious story on F365 linking him as Chelsea's latest c***-of-the-month if they sack Rosenior.  Of all the places he's not likely to go...

If we see off Lille, will he be the first Villa manager to get us to 3 European QF’s?

There's only been three by my reckoning that have ever done it at all.

Depends if including the intertoto on how many QF we've been to.

Without that there's 77/78, 81/82, 82/83, 97/98 and then Unai. Which overall is pretty poor.

Ron got us to the QF of UEFA and European Cups, Barton to QF of the European the following year, and Little to the UEFA one. (We were qualified before Gregory took over). I wouldn't class the Intertoto so not sure who would be four.

The guy who's done it for the last two seasons?

But the initial post replied to was already mentioning Unai so quite obvious that DW was talking about other Villa managers who had reached a European Quarter final.

Not that it's really worth anyone getting their knickers in a twist over, but no, it wasn't obvious to me. Otherwise I wouldn't have said it.

"only been three by my reckoning that have ever done it at all".
