It would be a huge surprise and huge fucking mistake.
If we don't qualify for the Champions League would anyone be totally surprise if we start next season with a new manager? I wouldn't! Top end football is about winning trophies and I'm pretty sure the owners will be as pissed off by yesterday's result as us fans. I just can't get my head around yesterday's performance. So insipid. When we play with purpose we're as good as anyone. When we play so slowly we look awful. It was Crystal Fucking Palace for fucks sake not PSG or Barcelona.

All the tell-tell signs are there.Certain players played every week even if they have to be put out of position. Rogers being arsy towards Watkins, falling behind the first time the opposition shoot again and again, last minute goals, defensive errors that never seem to be addressed.
I do wonder if things are not quite as rosy behind the scenes. The Watkins interview where he said 'I am furious with sitting on the bench, I have told the manager, me, AND A FEW OTHERS, are not happy with being on the bench'. I thought at the time that it was a naive thing to say as it didn't come across well. By all means, talk about yourself Ollie but to mention others smacks of an attempt to undermine. Emery will sort out the furious bunch, I suspect.
You would think Uni and his team would look at how other teams have beaten Palace this season and see how Villa can adapt. Palace play the same way in every game so it shouldn't be that difficult to see the obvious flaws they have. It seemed obvious that we were intent on playing the same as usual against them almost hoping rather than expecting a different outcome. It's just so odd that such a detailed based manager can be so wrong time and again against a fairly ordinary team as Palace.
As I said on the transfer thread - a few of our favourite players are probably coming to the end of their time here unfortunately Mings, Ollie etc.

Then we'd have given them more issues when on the ball.
