All of this is very well, but we still lost 0-2!

Yep, lots of words written about how tactically innovative it is, which is fine, but it didn't actually work!

It didn't work because we missed our chances and they didn't, from the perspective of the manager there's not much he can do about that (in an individual game).

I agree with you CT. I just think the timing of the pieces is weird.

Saw this stat online, blame whoever did it if it's wrong!

Away Premier League wins as Aston Villa manager:
29 - Martin O'Neill (76 games played)
25 - John Gregory (73 games played)
19 - Brian Little (65 games played)
16 - Unai Emery (33 games played)
16 - Ron Atkinson (49 games played)

Elite coaching spot the difference :

"Interestingly, while Dyche was talking in his pre-match press conference of giving Iroegbunam space before loading him with too much information, Emery was at Villa's training ground telling Sky Sports of the work that needs to be done to help Onana.

Perhaps it should not be a surprise that the adjustment is significant. Onana has left the team that played the most long balls in the Premier League last season for one that played among the fewest, only 25 more than short-passing experts Manchester City"

He was very animated yesterday for some reason. I think Buendia wasn’t doing as he was told, maybe it was at someone else. He did it on two occasions, like a Rock Star he was pointing, furiously.

Was he booked? I assuming for encroaching on the playing surface whilst screaming at whoever.

Victims of his wrath were Rogers and Barkley, I believe.

It did look like he was booking someone over by the touchline at one point. Maybe it was just a first warning.

I think he had been reading the 'Watkins or Duran' thread during a lull in play.

Barkley wasn't sitting exposing us on the counter. I watched it back and it was a ridiculous booking for Unai. Yeah he was out of his little box thing going mad at Ross but the it was the whimp on the touchline who called over the ref as he was getting a little scared. Pathetic the way this game is going if a manager can't shout at his players these days.

I want to see Arteta sent off today if that's the case.
