Unai Emery now has 38 Premier League wins as Aston Villa manager, overtaking David O'Leary (37), doing so in 47 less games.

Emery is now tied with Ron Atkinson on 38 wins as Aston Villa manager, doing so in 31 less games.

A season of wins in just under two seasons is tremendous going. Especially when most of the players were relegation fodder when he first started, and then his second season he lost two key players early on.

His team against Man U for his first game wasn't relegation fodder at all, in fact it's hardly changed:

E Martinez
M Cash
E Konsa
T Mings
L Digne
Douglas Luiz
E Buendia
L Bailey
L Dendoncker
J Ramsey
O Watkins

Kamara and McGinn on the bench, too.

Talking about if we had continued under the previous manager mate. We knew they were better then what they were.

It was obvious, so early in that game that we had someone who knew what he was doing.

There was a plan, we had shape, and everyone knew their job.

One of my favourite games that.

One of my lad's proudest boasts at school, to all his ManU gloryhunting mates, is how he saw Ronaldo, and they haven't, how shit he was, and how good we were.

This is his 3rd Villa team, it is different to the 2 previous seasons.
It will take time to get to its highest level but you can see the potential is there and it is very exciting.
Not sure that we have the depth yet but there is still January.

I still have to pinch myself we have him tbh. I just love him so much.

It's like he's perfect.

I bet he doesn't even fart or poo.
