He's talking shite though. The plans to develop Witton station are now advancing, which was one of the main bones of contention. Addressing getting people to and from the ground as it stands isn't going to increase revenue, it's the football equivalent of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.

Indeed, and the Witton station good news even came the same week Heck 'announced' we ain't doing the redevelopment. By all accounts it stunned the local authorities as much as it stunned us.

I honestly wish we had never heard of Chris Heck. I bet we would be going ahead with the new stand, wouldn't have the ridiculous badge-gate distraction. He's up (or down?) there with the Tom Fox's of this world for me. He'll be long gone and we'll still be looking at the North Stand and wondering 'what could have been'.

and there we go, 2 of the people most willing to moan about it completely dismiss anything that doesn't fit their view despite me giving the exact quotes.

This debate is pointless.

Indeed.  As your exact quotes are ones we have all read and heard and add nothing new to the discussion.

Cheers though.

I've always felt there are VERY few clubs that could prize Unai away given what he has here now, but frankly, I'm terrified that Liverpool will come knocking now that Klopp has announced he's stepping down at the end of the season...

He's not even in SkyBet's long list of potential candidates. David Moyes more likely at 66/1.

I hope to God they're right.  I guess it comes from having a brilliant manager, that we know is brilliant, and ASSUMING everyone else sees that he is brilliant and would therefore want him.  I'm literally stunned that David Moyes is higher in the odds than Unai.
50/1 with PP.
All the noise is that they've already done a deal with Alonso. 🤞

I wouldn't be at all surprised.

He won’t by a Liverpool type appointment, and he’ll be well aware of the pitfalls of following a major legacy. No chance.

Sorry I thought I'd share it again because you and a few others seem to have only seen the first bit, given that's all you ever fucking mention. Not worth the effort though, you carry on sulking for as long as you need to.

I realize Heck has his detractors, and for good reason for some things. Mostly his shoddy communication. But he does still work directly for our owners who we all love. So unless he his operating in some sort of vacuum, he’s clearly convinced our owners that the plans as previously proposed could be improved upon, or needed additional consideration. I’d be stunned if Aston Villa has come to the conclusion that 42000 is the right capacity long term to compete at the top end of football domestically or in Europe.
That’s it in a nutshell for me.
The owners haven’t given up on expansion, just when and where.

I don’t think we can draw any conclusions from what Heck said, he was being deliberately vague and disingenuous.
