Oh dear. Are people imagining that posters are ‘turning on the manager’ again?

It would appear so.

Fuck off Emery, useless ******.

God knows where they're getting that from, eh? 😉

Yes, venting at the final whistle because you've just been humiliated by a 4th division club means you've turned on him, silly me.

Well, it's not exactly supportive.
jesus

Exactly. What would Jesus do if Nazarath had been knocked out of the Judean cup by some two bob outfit from a cave in the Golan Heights?

He may have turned the other cheek, but he'd have been giving a round of fucks along the way.
I think he would have said 'take up thy bed and walk' to some poor fucker who was perfectly happy begging.

Trying to be positive, so hopefully Emery will have seen how useless some of our players are and bin them off asap. Equally I hope that he will have learned from this so that next season he doesn't mess around too much with the starting eleven in both cups. With any luck the youth players may get more of a look in from now on. Let's face it they can't be any worse than that shower on Sunday.

Nobody is going to remember Olsen getting beaten at his near post for very long.

And I'd just about put it out of my mind, you swine!

I'm still trying to put his pass to Dendonker when he should have put is boot through it out of my mind, haven't got to the lack of GK awareness for the 2nd yet.

He really is awful. Not fit to lace Jed Steers boots. Would have been better off with getting Ben Foster on a free in semi retirement.

While shit results happen sometimes it’s the context that keeps the anger bubbling. Newcastle fans while fucked off they are out of the FA cup, also have a league cup quarter final to look forward to and sit 3rd in the table. As Villa fans we’ve just got middle table football to endure as we try and break into the top 10. Plus given that we’ve been mostly shit for the past decade, our only joy being appearances at Wembley and only because we were coming back up, I can understand why there isn’t much left in terms of patience.

Unfortunately some can not separate being critical of and turning on the manager.
Sad.

Exactly.  There's no problem in supporting Emery,  but calling him out when he's dropped the ball in two cup competitions that represent our best chance of achieving our target of European football.

We're not getting into Europe this season, but We're not going down either, so why treat the FA Cup like its a nuisance and field a side that have barely played together?

I was never a Gerrard fan, but at least his team selections showed he was taking the cups seriously.

Calling him out is fine, saying he 'sabotaged' the game and 'stuck two fingers up at the fans' is utter bollocks.

Yep, it most certainly is and it's all rather silly.

Some of the high-horse / moral high ground, self-flagellation of Villa twitter has been absolutely absurd. I've seen so many tweets blaming the fans for the shit atmosphere and thus contributing to the loss, for example. What utter fucking nonsense. It's a Sunday night 3rd round cup match the first week in January against a fourth division side, not sure why anyone would be expecting River Plate - Boca Juniors atmosphere for that sort of fixture.

I thought the booing on Sunday was absolutely merited, though, that was a shocking display. I thought the half time booing against Wolves, on the other hand, was massively over the top.

re rotation, we should have been able to rotate the U18s in and still have enough to beat Stevenage. That line up was easily strong enough. Moaning about squad rotation strikes me as a bit nuts, everyone does it and there's not a side in the top flight that wouldn't have done similar against 4th division opposition.

They didn't deliver though, and now the manager has a much clearer view of who is and who is not up to it.

FWIW i suspect he's starting to form a negative opinion on a few of the players, and TBH some of them are clearly not good enough for where we want to go. Cash, Digne, Olsen, Bailey maybe. That's a good thing, because frankly, some of them are not good enough and we need to get a bit more ruthless if we are going to progress.

On the Wolves one, we were getting played off the pitch at home in a local (ish?) derby. Tactically we were a mess and fortunate to be just a goal down. Is booing the team off really that unexpected? Maybe an overdue kick up the arse was what both players and management needed at that point.

I like that Villa Park has a reputation of being a tough place to play if the natives get restless in the stands. If players can't cope with that then they are at the wrong club. We can't change every player, nor should we let any head coach do that but self belief, coaching and clear tactical instructions can improve players. Watching Newcastle tonight is evidence of that, the likes of Almiron, Joelinton, Longstaff could have been let leave on cut price deals about six months ago.

we are a mid table team with a new manager only 1-0 to another Midlands rival, where games don't always go to script. That in my opinion didn't require our fans to boo the team off the pitch. The game wasn't over, and as we saw we played well in the second half to get the equalizer and should have won it. If fans are booing now, then what happens when as we all hope we are further up the table? Will any non winning scoreline create a negative environment? That would be very unfortunate if we created that atmosphere after years of the shit we've all had to witness. Losing at home to Stevenage, that's a whole other conversation. Boo the fuck away.

The first half of the Wolves game came a few days after a really good win at Tottenham. Its almost as if those that booed forgot about that and also let's be honest, Wolves did play very well in that first half. Maybe we just have our very own impatient Tarquins, who knows?
