The other thing with twat articles like this is they're generally written by Generation Z/ late millenials who have little interest in football beyond the last 10 years.

If the last decade was your only reference you probably would think we were a perma lower table/ Championship side.

They've always had ideas way above their station. I remember us beating them comfortably 2-0 at home when Gregory had took over and we were on that great run. Redknapp come on MOTD after the game like they'd been hard done by and should expect to beat us, it's stuck in my mind all these years as although we'd had a poor start to the season, we'd finished 4th and 5th the previous two, and West Ham were just a yo-yo club, with shit players and shit kit manufacturers.

They were always on a par with Southampton, Coventry or Luton for me.

Shit non entity clubs with shit grounds.

They had the 'dumb luck' of having Moore, Peters and Hurst around the same time and still finishing on average 16th most seasons.  At least Luton and Cov didn't band on about that 'academy of football' gubbins.

My thoughts on West Ham are about as passionate as my thoughts on Dunelm. On the two or three occasions a year that I encounter them, I am reminded of their existence and vaguely hopeful that something positive will come of it - three points or a nice but mediocre quality lamp.

What about West Ham's dumb luck to have Declan Rice in their squad, who won't sign a long-term deal and will be off when it suits him.

I remember that game well. We beat them 2-0 and we had a full house too.

West Ham were always a nothing club until Londoncentricity of the Premier League kicked in and they got a load of supporters in the media because it's hip to be an East End Danny Dyer actalike. It's the same as Islington and Arsenal in the nineties.

They get all the day trippers and tourists too. Kill 2 birds by taking in a match and seeing Olympic stadium etc. Then they realise what a shit experience it is for fans. Ha.

Interview with the boss. Comes across really well. Nas took the lead on this which is incredibly interesting. No mention of Purslow but doesn’t mean he wasn’t involved of course. But shows that both owners decided enough us enough and are demanding success. This is the first step. A world class coach and staff.

I like how he says he's looking to restore confidence in the players first up. He's an intelligent, experienced guy and knows he doesn't have to 'stamp his authority' on them. They are good players, they just need an effective framework they can trust and it will grow from there.

And I know it's a couple of days and we haven't played yet but this is the man, he seems to be to have the right character for us as a club, as somebody else said there's strong SGT vibes with him. If he can't get us going we may as well pack it in.
