Hope there is still a place for Danks on his coaching staff.

Absolutely agree and Neil cutler but I’ve read that he has his own team which are likely to be brought in like most managers  these days, but out of all of our backroom team, Danks and Cutler would be great to keep for continuity also

As mentioned above, thoroughly recommend a look at Molineux Mix tonight, it's very funny. In full meltdown.

And also, some deluded twats on there. Check this one out.

Ok in all seriousness; our players are (usually) way better than those of Villareal or Villa. We have consistently finished higher than Villa for years apart from Covid season.

Why the **** are those clubs getting Emery, linked with Gallardo, and we are consigning ourselves to Steve ******* Davis for 3 months??!.

They're not happy are they. Wait until they discover not only did we get a top manager sorted in a few days, we also dropped Amorim.
What do you mean "dropped" ?

We were in talks with him and decided to pull out. It was our call.
Ok I didn't know that. I was under the impression that he ruled himself out.

It's always puzzled me, is his surname one of those coincidences where a name will pop up in different place e.g. Lee in Ireland and Hong Kong. Or does he have a random British ancestor (or Emerys here have a random Basque ancestor)?

It's from southern France originally. My aunt did the whole family tree thing a few years back and we had 'relatives' in France, Spain (specifically Basque and Catalan) and loads on Corsica, was 10-12 generations back though.

Stuart Pearce on talksport doesn't seem to think it's a good appointment. He seems to think we should have given Sean Dyche a chance because Eddie Howe has done well at Newcastle. I'm not entirely sure how that is remotely relevent.

Obviously as one English manager has done fairly well at Newcastle it’s a given than another English manager would do well at Villa. Just like Gerrard did.

Danny Murphy and Tom 'this club breaks yer heart' Ross don't think much of the appointment either.

I don't know why we bother. We should gather all these minds of information together beforehand to get their seal of approval.

All the bellends I pay no heed to are not impressed. Great.

Ron Toss, beneath his 'every midlands club' exterior will be quietly seething.

It’s hard to phantom it out. There’s an acceptance of forin footballers. Managers less so it seems or is it more to do with little old Aston Villa getting a decent foreign manager? With some, it’s clubs of our standing should be employing up and coming English managers as that’s what we’re there for. Reputable managers are for the recognised top six clubs.

It's amazing how quickly things change, I'm not sure many would have cared less before Saturday (although obviously Legion may have an inside track on his qualities)  But for sure I think we owe Danks a lot of grattitude, the performance on Saturday may have been pivotal in persuading Emery to join.  I'd be very happy if he's kept on board if Emery is ok with that.

I can confirm that from personal experience. As bitter as any of them.
