In an attempt to be optimistic, switching to a back three might improve how we attack with wing backs instead of full backs.

Just trying to be positive.

Did Critchley do 5 at the back at Blackpool?

I’d take a drubbing to finally get rid of Gerrard.

We all know the script here.

I'm with you Paul.  We've seen it too many times!

Setting out to be defensive the club of the bottom of the league is going to end one way. Seeing as we can't currently hit a barn door, an initially nervous Forest will gradually realise we're there for the taking and with the City Ground crowd behind them in the 2nd half, we'll collapse. This is Gerrard's Southampton moment. In the last 10 minutes he'll be slumped in his seat with that resigned look on his face.

Sorry to be negative, but Gerrard is finished at Villa. I'd love to be wrong, but it's just as I see it at the moment.

Wow. Why would any fan want their team to get beat?

In the end I never want us to lose but there have been times I’ve thought about it. That one defeat today could reshape tomorrow. That ridding ourselves of Bruce for example gave us Deano and everything that delivered. So I get it when someone says it even if deep down no Villa fan actually wants us to lose

5-3-2. The Siren call of the clueless.

Never, not even in the days of Bruce did I want us to lose, even if it meant he would have got the sack. You seriously need to have a rethink

Nothing wrong if the squad is built for it.
Ours isn't and will (if true) involve Ashley Young as left wing back. He's been way above my expectations at right back but thats not involved continual lung busting runs both ways.

A sizeable minority of Villa fans were cheering opposition goals in the last few away games before we were relegated - Arsenal and Watford spring to mind.

I’ve had a rethink and 7.0 to Forest should do it.

This is a Villa fan site, you might want to look elsewhere for your teams forum?

Isn't the answer in his post?

Agree or not, he's made that pretty clear.

If a Forest win meant Gerrard departing and Pocchetino coming in I'd use the Mull of Kintyre to invoke the spirit of 2018 Glen Whelan.
