There's no way that a decision whether or not to bring the like of Pochettino in rests upon how we do against a team nailed to the bottom of the table.

Fate is inexorable, but choosing defeat is a pretty corrosive mentality, representing a moral weakness.

I can understand if someone feels that a loss is a better outcome for the club in the long run.
I got pretty close under Lambert but once the game starts I want us to win.
I am not sure where the club is at right now so a change at this stage could cause more problems than it solves.
I think we need a replacement CEO first.

I’d take a drubbing to finally get rid of Gerrard.

Wow. Why would any fan want their team to get beat?

Isn't the answer in his post?

Agree or not, he's made that pretty clear.

He's made it clear that he's happy for his team to lose and in another post, 7-0 if that's what it takes. I'm not sure why anyone would want that.

The answers in his post. Once again, what are you not understanding?

I'm understanding that he'd be happy for his team to lose. Why? It's not great but it's not quite Paul Lambert shitness.

Luke, I'm a fan. I don't want my team to lose and I can't understand why anyone would. Why is that so hard to grasp?

I hope Villa win always regardless of who is manager. I hope they win on Monday by 5 or 6. Even if they do, i hope we replace Gerrard with Poch’ if he is available and wants to come as I’ve seen enough of SG and his style of play and still for the life of me haven’t a clue about how we play or are meant to be playing.

I'd rather argue about the qualities of the Manager without the shadow of a relegation struggle looming large over us.

There's why he wants it to happen.

Not saying it's right or wrong to feel that way, but looking at your question, the answer is pretty obvious.

I would much, much rather Gerrard turned this around, moving on from a resounding win on Monday.

I just feel utterly laced with doom that even if we do get a result, we all know how this is going to end and it is just putting off the inevitable.

I'd personally sack Gerrard if we only draw. Even a narrow win isn't going to convince me too much but ultimately it's points on the board and better shape for next manager to inherit, well less wins needed to stay up anyway.

If it's a draw it's 9 points from 9 games, not winning away games against teams going to finish in bottom 6 and barely above bottom 3, what more is needed to sack him?

It’s difficult ,although we’re supposed to be employing  head coach’s ,SG doesn’t coach he manages, with that in mind the coaching set up needs to be looked at.  Is it unreasonable to suggest that our coaches have very little top level experience, which isn’t helpful. Back to the thread goalless draw 4 unbeaten.

ironically cheering an opposition goal, when your already relegated and had a dog shit season where the team has gained 17 points, and one of your players posted a picture of his car a minute or two after a 6-0 home defeat, is different to wanting your team to lose before a game.
Ive come to the conclusion fairly late on that Gerard is out of his depth, id love Poch although there is no evidence to suggest there is anything in this at all. Even with all of that i cannot understand the mentality of wanting your team to lose, even if you think it will be the end of the manager you dislike. What is the point of supporting a team if you ever want them to lose.
