We've had a yellow loon for almost 35 years, it's hardly a new thing?
I'd like to simplify things by having the shield badge on the home kit, the circle on the away kit and just a Lion on the third kit that faces left for cup games and right for league.

Understandable people from different eras have strong feeling about certain elements, but for a lot of us a yellow lion on some kind of shield is Aston Villa.

My 18 year old nephew said the same this afternoon. I think the 80s badge is best, but I really don't mind a shield. It's the yellow-lion-on-sky blue-background combination which I think is weak. I thought the same when it was introduced.
It seems that Stoke are changing theirs to this based on their social media.
