Someone on Twitter asked how long we'd been entering the BSC. Er, since about 1876.

Hopefully that was a very young team or a kind of reserve youth considering Tividale are a struggling team at Step 5 of non-league.

It was. Nobody takes the BSC seriously; it's a bit of a flag-waving exercise to the outposts of civilisation.

Don't underestimate Local Non League Football.  Tivi are not a very good MFL Team but they are not going to play against a Premier League outfit without testing out their bravery.
It was cold, windy and a bobbly pitch.  Some of the tackling was last seen in the 1970s.
The Villa kids stood up to them and went long ball themselves.
The back four and particularly Feeney and Smith were great.

The majority of the Villa players will eventually play at Non League level.  Tividale had Melvin in midfield who played in the youth team with Grealish, Robinson, Graham and Crowley.
In the next round we play Alvechurch who have another ex Villa youth playing at Right back.

It's an introduction to men's football, much like our U21's get in one of the lower league competitions they're involved in.

U18s reached the semi-finals of the Under-18 Premier League Cup at the weekend with a 0-4 win over Soton

Would the line-ups in this have been pretty similar to the FA Youth Cup meeting between the same clubs a few weeks prior? I thought the Youth Cup was for U18s too. Seems weird that the heavy scoreline was basically reversed.

Beat Sunderland 6-4 at BMH in the U21/PL2 after leading 5-2 at the hour mark. Wilson came on as a sub on 38 mins and got 2.

More a tale of defensive ineptitude than attacking brilliance but there was some good passing and moving.

Apparently, we're now in a play-off place after winning six of our last seven league games.
