That's great. I'd really like them to get promoted so that they can be regularly be playing against better opposition. Hopefully it could help attract better prospects too.

Seb Revan seems like an unusual choice for a penalty taker.

From an article in the Athletic -

"It is entirely possible that UEFA will have to tighten the homegrown rule to insist that clubs can only count players who came through their own academy towards their homegrown quota."

Currently, the homegrown rule includes players coming through any academy in the same country.

I think that would be a very stupid idea and would lead to some clubs hoarding huge numbers of 16-17 year olds to ensure they had 1-2 a season making the breakthrough with 3 years at the club as U21, making it a lot more difficult for smaller teams to meet those requirements.

It's following a case that went to the European Court of Justice though, following a challenge Antwerp made to the Homegrown rule. The Advocate-General found that the current restrictions had a purpose. But then said that the game's definition of what a home-grown player is, is too generous. And aren't compliant with free-movement rules.

Good news.

Kaden Young scored the winner but was sent off near the end.

Someone told me that the U-15s beat Chelsea in their National QF this week. Well done, lads.

Bodes well to see our kids doing well in various age groups.
