Given everyone else is being bumped - name me another defensive midfielder who would have that presence of mind to hold off two players and nudge the ball a yard to their left in a crowded penalty area after a ten second scrum.

Your Declan Rices of this world would have spooned that right into the Holte.

Rice is possibly the only player I'd swap Kamara for.

Deschamps can’t keep ignoring him much longer.

You say this, but all evidence of Deschamps since 2012 indicated he doesn't easily change his plans. :D

Only one more tournament to worry about what Deschamps thinks.

I wouldn't, maybe Onana instead.

I'd swap him Rice on the basis Rice doesn't seem to get injured. Obviously this would change the second he put on a Villa shirt.

What, and make Arsenal stronger?

Kamara, Rice, Rodri and Caicedo are all brilliant players in that position and all 4 teams struggle without them. Rice seems to have the least injuries and bans of the group which is why he just about shades it.

I love Rice, he's a colossus of a midfielder. He also appears to be absolutely sound and level headed, he'd fit in with us so well.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about him until seeing him in the flesh at Villa Park a couple of years ago. He was immense. Plus he's not bad at set pieces. I wasn't that impressed on Saturday though.

He's my favourite England* player. Him and Kamara together would be the stuff of wet dreams.

*sorry Ireland.

Yep. Rice is also the cousin to our Finlay Munroe as well.

He gets goals too. Bouba, pearlers against Wolfs and Spurs aside, doesn't.

Different players though. Kamara plays more as a DM/six and Rice plays more of an 8 so we would be replacing the position we normally play Onana or Tielemans. Fun fact, he was on a 100% goal scoring record against Claret and Blue teams this season.

I saw that earlier and thought "aah, the press have decided it's time to big up our best player for one of the Sky6 to be linked!"

But it is true, he is so important, but the real key to Tuesday was Onana going off.
