Given everyone else is being bumped - name me another defensive midfielder who would have that presence of mind to hold off two players and nudge the ball a yard to their left in a crowded penalty area after a ten second scrum.

Your Declan Rices of this world would have spooned that right into the Holte.

Rice is possibly the only player I'd swap Kamara for.

Deschamps can’t keep ignoring him much longer.

You say this, but all evidence of Deschamps since 2012 indicated he doesn't easily change his plans. :D

Only one more tournament to worry about what Deschamps thinks.

I wouldn't, maybe Onana instead.

I'd swap him Rice on the basis Rice doesn't seem to get injured. Obviously this would change the second he put on a Villa shirt.

Kamara, Rice, Rodri and Caicedo are all brilliant players in that position and all 4 teams struggle without them. Rice seems to have the least injuries and bans of the group which is why he just about shades it.

I love Rice, he's a colossus of a midfielder. He also appears to be absolutely sound and level headed, he'd fit in with us so well.
