He is fucking pointless.

I don't particularly rate Gauci, but I would rather see him between the sticks than ever seeing Olsen continue to let in three or four goals per game ever again.

He scares the back four to death with his slow & shit feet so there is no comfortable possession at the back, especially when pressed, he has quavers attached to hinges as wrists & they hold his giant polo mint fucking hands...

He is so shit, he makes Nyland look competent.

I actually feel sorry for him....every time he plays he concedes a bunch and it's not all down to him, but some of it is and so it's a vicious circle that he can't seem to get out of.

The most obvious flaw in our squad, which should have been addressed last summer. Mind boggling

It needs to change in the summer. I was on my feet applauding him and backing him, as was the majority of the crowd. The Manager has been effusive when he talks about him but any slight improvement is outwieghed by the stats.

One thing The Villa Podcast lads mentioned was why his hand was shaped like a fist for that deflected goal. Watching it back, it is a strange decision, I'm not sure why he'd do it in that situation.

Its not all on him we know this but there is something when he plas we concede. He just does not fit with our defence and style of play.

I dont want to see him play for us again. Rather have gauci given a go if emi isnt fit

Just strap the big man up and get him out there, even on one leg he's better than 90% of any other keepers.

Sorry it's happened too often so it's not a coincidence .
This is the bloke also that Sheff Utd bombed out . As did Everton.
He's crap and Emery needs to get rid ASAP.

TBH, the bigger flaws were right back where we have had no-one all season, and defensive mid where I think Iroegbunam could have been looked at more, although granted he was injured for some of it.

Very important true, but we’ve had reasonably adequate filling in for most of the season. Everyone knew Olsen was a liability and there was no alternative (unless u count kids).

He's probably not a bad goalkeeper, he's just terrible for a team whose main tactic against pressing teams (like Olympiakos) is to invite the press and pass it around them.

With Emi, Pau and Tielemans all out, we are not effective at doing this, and got punished by a team specifically set up to punish this style of play.

Agreed, Mr Sexwhale. Just said something similar on the post match thread.

Yes, it was futile persevering with it. Olsen is not adept at it and if the midfield are having an off day we should have tried a different tactic.

He probably, in fact definitely is a bad goalkeeper . It's plain to see.

There’s no doubt we can upgrade on him. Plus save some money on wages. Sure our scouting department are already on it.
