Mine was the late 70’s/early 80’s white away shirt with the claret and blue striped collar and those wonderful claret & blue Umbro diamonds down the sleeves. Truly a thing of beauty which was worn by some of our finest players.

I brought a retro version last year, I bloody love it.
That was my first shirt as well. I bought it in Lewis'. Frank Carrodus was in there on what would be called a promo these days and then down to Harry Parkes to look at all the Adidas boots we couldn't afford

Umbro 1978 for me, from Ray Hitchcock’s in Solihull. I had home and away kits and liked nothing better than mixing up shirts/shorts/socks to create a different look each time!

Our all claret shirt in the 1969-70 relegation season, bought as a Christmas present by my grandad from Harry Parkes.
That was my first full kit, also from Harry Parkes. I've still got a photo of me proudly wearing it, standing with my arms crossed and foot on a football.

1975-81 kit for my birthday in 1979. The only one of my Villa shirts I don't still have because my mum gave it away when I grew out of it.

69/70
Tommy Docherty’s all claret with blue collar.
I don’t think it was a popular top as was not a ‘traditional’ Villa top.

I loved it, and is probably why I always like the mainly claret tops and sleeves with little blue. Absolutely loved the Luke top

Mine was from Dick Taylor's.The round neck late 60s one.'You had to buy the lion cloth badge separately and sew it on.
:) :)
The same here, don't remember being told where it was from, no badge and a little big but boy was I happy, i used to hold the cuffs like Dennis Law because they were so long, who incidentally, when i was at my grandmas in Deevale Rd Aberdeen I was kicking a ball in the road and this chap asked for a pass, i subsequently found out it was Dennis visiting his sister three doors down. I had the shirt on then, but i don't recall talking about it or being quizzed.

That has to be about 1963 / 64 maybe earlier, but my granda said he was famous so must have gone to M Utd by then

Mine was the '77 Umbro with the striped collar. My mum (a dressmaker) cut  out and sewed a white "8" on the back and I was immediately  transformed into my boyhood hero. I even had his hair for a while.

Christmas 1982, full home kit with 'Champions of Europe' under the badge.

Same!  I believe that was also a white Xmas, and we walked down to the park to play in the snow......

I have no idea where my parents bought my first (and only) strip. I was a feeble 5’ 2” 14 years old shrimp and it was ‘66, so the top was my favourite of all time, the two-hoop round collar, and long sleeves.

It barely fitted me, but I adored it and wore it as I started my sprouting towards 6’ 1”, including a brief spell training with the Sutton Coldfield youth team: Coach “you’re a bit small” Me “I’m as tall as Bobby Collins”. I had blagged my way in, and he was trying to be kind… In reality I was terrible.
