Poor Leon got a bit bamboozled there.

Seemed oddly devoid of confidence yesterday. Nowhere near as bad as his performance against Spurs but miles off where we need him to be right now.

They doubled up on him and he got no support from Konsa.  He still looked our most likely outlet and I was surprised we took him off.

Wouldn't have taken him off either. It was too late for subs really, another stoppage we didn't need. It was a bit Bradford esque too with effectively 4 x forwards on. Duran and Watkins getting in each other's way.

Konsa was shocking really defensively and effectively standing behind Bailey offered zero with the ball. Missed a sitter with that header too. At least Cash would have tried going on the overlap and getting in behind Brentford.

This was the main problem.  Konsa gave them absolutely nothing to think about which left Bailey swamped.

I like us to get Reece James if qualify for Champions League. He would be excellent addition as has super delivery and a goal threat. Would work well as a right full back who attacks but can also come inside the middle areas of the pitch.

There's no doubt that when fit he's superb going forward.  But it's a brave club that spends money on anyone that injury prone.

If you’re looking at Chelsea I’d prefer Madueke.

If Reece-James can stay fit, then there's no way Chelsea are going to sell one of their best players. If he can't, then we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Have we not bought a RB (albeit young) that has Champs league experience?

First class by Leon Bailey, and his football intelligence as it was he who was in the dressing room at halftime informing the coaches that he needed to deliver the ball to McGinn at the edge  of the area at set pieces after Lile adjusted the formation from conceding the first goal and moved a defender deeper giving lots of space.

Ginny said on TNT Bailey was screaming at half time to let him play the ball to SJM who was in acres of space.

That attention to detail is first class and Bailey is clearly someone who gets it. It's why he's been able to improve his game under Emery.
Absolutely brilliant.

I don’t know much about players outside Villa, but when we signed him my lad said he would be a bargain at £30m
