Leon Bailey (out on loan to AS Roma)

Not too many starts and 11 goal involvements in 17 appearances. That's superb. Wingers are typically inconsistent and dip in and out of games. You judge them on end product and making things happen and Leon's definitely doing the business this season.
It's also very difficult to be a good impact player but Bailey is making a difference off the bench, which has been the most pleasing thing.

I hope he keeps it up.

Don't think anyone was saying that last weekend! He's probably done enough to start ahead of Diaby for Spurs.

I am delighted for him.

And this is one time that I can actually sit here & say that my faith in the reasoning for him not being in great form has been proven to be some good "insight", lol...

In all seriousness, I always thought there was a player in him & felt his lack of form was a confidence issue regarding his previous injury & the fear of reoccurrence.

The way Emery has helped him get over that by using him wisely from the bench is another sign of how in tuned Emery is to the squad & its needs.

But I also feel that Diaby being here has had a huge impact.

Not only are they friendly & compliment each other well on the pitch, adding extra pace & directness for the opposition to be concerned about, but Diaby has taken a lot of the pressure off Bailey & that is showing in the way he is growing back into becoming the player he was in Germany.

I don't want to seem greedy, but I feel there is more to come from Bailey too...

Talk about an impact player, he's really impressed me this season.  Worked hard tracking back too. 

I hope his attitude rubs off on the likes of Duran.

His part in Watkins' goal yesterday was superb. Running 50 yards with the ball, lovely 1:2 with McGinn whilst continuing his run before the perfect cross. Loved it.

I thought he was pretty poor last night, particularly the first half. He lost possession pretty much every time he got the ball, and some of his decision-making was well off.

Yes, it’s so frustrating when he loses the ball after turning down the option of a simple 5 or 10 yard progressive pass.

 It would be churlish not to acknowledge how well he did yesterday, albeit by adding a couple of simple passes at the right time ;-)

I think he's a much better player coming off the bench as he has showed a few times now.  He gives the opposition plenty to think about with the way he performs in a cameo role. One thing that infuriates me about him though is that I don't think he's had a game yet where he hasn't gone down with some form of injury, imaginary or otherwise.

At Villa Park, that's true. Away from home in the league he's every bit as rubbish as he's always been. He was dreadful against Forest.

He's a great option to bring on after 60 minutes, as the game has normally opened up by then, giving him more space to run into.

I definitely wouldn't start him and Diaby together or Bailey away from home.

As was everybody but yeah, there's a massive difference between his home and away form. I hope that's the next stage of his rehabilitation.
