Back to his usual infuriating self last night , shame as he's had a couple of decent games prior

He very much wasn't decent against Forest.

Both of them are backup players in this current set-up/squad.

Zaniolo for Ramsey and Bailey for McGinn. Using them as subs is fine and as soon as the first choices are fit they'll be on the bench.

Bailey is a really good player to bring off the bench later in games and make an impact. That’s fine for where we are now. But as we try to operate consistently at the top end of the table and in competitions generally, we need a squad of players that we can rotate and rely on whether they start or not. That’s why Man City piss the league. Because they could put out 2 or 3 teams that likely finish top 4. Our back up XI would struggle to stay up.

I thought he was our best attacking outlet last night.  Some of his passes went a lite off, but he was at least trying to be positive.
Totally agree

I thought he was pretty poor last night, particularly the first half. He lost possession pretty much every time he got the ball, and some of his decision-making was well off.

Yes, it’s so frustrating when he loses the ball after turning down the option of a simple 5 or 10 yard progressive pass.

This, so bloody often.
If he hasn't already beaten himself with his own trickery.

He can be very good at times, but at this level, doing the business every 3rd or 4th game isn't enough.
Having said that, he has improved a tad on last season.

I sometimes see Diaby and Bailey getting into each others space.
I'm not sure why they can't be on either side but against Az at times they were both occupying right side.

I thought he was whipping in some delightful corners including the quality in assisted Diego Carlos with a super delivery of the ball.
And there was the instance with Lenglet, where just offside after the initial corner was wonderful too.

If he constantly played the simple 5-10yard pass he’d be knocked for not trying anything.
Yes, I get what you’re saying, he probably needs to pick his passes better.

His goals and assists per 90 minutes still the best in the Prem this season? Probably not anymore, but the fact he's up and around it shouldn't be forgotten.

He assisted both a goal that should have been and a goal that was Thu night. He didn't do everything right but he got more right than wrong

A great break and assist again today.  He's having a very decent season.  His work might not always be of the highest standard but his willingness to keep running and trying means that he often pops up in the right place at the right time.  I'm liking him.
