Luiz has probably been the biggest disappointment for me. At the start of the season I was expecting him to really kick on into a top player at this level. Has been ok but certainly not the progression as expected. Maybe a good rest this summer will do the trick.

He will most likely be off to The Olympics.

Isn't it nice to actually have a choice from more than 1 player.

I'm actually going for Ezri Konsa as I think he's made the biggest improvement and I think he's extremely unlucky to have not been in the last few England squads.

Honourable meantions though to Grealish, Martinez and Ollie who could all win this and i'd have no complaints at all.

I think in years to come we'll come to see his post Xmas dip in form as a blessing in disguise.  He wont be going to Citeh now and we are left with an outstanding prospect.

Very tough.

Based on pure quality Grealish of course but Martinez has just been amazing in 90% of the games and can't underplay how important a reliable keeper is at this stage of our development and one who frequently makes match winning saves at key points.

I'd probably give it to him.

Konsa has been very very good for majority of the season aswell and Targett obviously gets the much improved award.

Been a few years since you could name several as player of the year. Martinez, Grealish, Targett, Watkins, Konsa... you could make a case for any of them.

Hahaha, only you, bronte, could post about your biggest disappointment in the 'player of the season' thread!

Emi for me because of consistently high quality of play and the confidence he has brought to the defence. He’s made all of them better. But if you voted for Jack, Ollie or Konsa you’re not wrong either. Each have their own very strong case for play of the season.

Matt Targett take a bow.

Only player to have played every minute so far this season. Disciplined, solid defensively, threat going forward and a fantastic attitude.

In the face of adversity, proved most of us wrong. Not many do that!!

Honourable mentions to Emi, Jack, Ezri and Ollie.  :)

Konsa for me. Martinez has been excellent but he has had a couple of wobbles that I can’t remember Konsa having. Jack has just missed to much of the season. Ollie, exceptional job for basically the entire season and would probably be a different story of all those chances that hit the post went in. Small margins!!
