New away shirt looks decent enough. Wish they would have a kit release where you could just see the entire kit. What colour are the shorts and socks. Claret or black would be alright. Light blue or white, not so much.

On the OS the shorts are the same colour and the socks are claret

Hmm, not sure about that. Too much light blue is a bit insipid. Will see what it looks like in a match though.

First away kit for a few years that I've not liked. Looks like training gear more than a kit.

Looks nice. Think both home and away are decent first efforts by Castore.

I personally loathe the shirt and shorts being one colour and the socks another colour combination, it looks terribly lopsided, more so when the socks are darker than the rest.

The worst offenders

Dishonourable mention

I thought that sending an attacker in to disrupt the wall was a new tactic, but it seems the vile Hun were doing it in their multicultural POW camps 80 years ago!

Have we had a full sky-blue/light-blue away kit before? I don't care about the Cov/Blose colour comparisons when we go for a blue away number. It's our secondary colour so it should feature more often than not. The vertical strands seems to be a nod to the 80s (our 87/88 kit?) and I like when we can shade the sponsors name into the colour of our choice (i.e claret).

I like the shirt and I’ll be interested to see how the whole kit looks come match day. I’m thinking I’ll go for a CASH this year.. still have my fingers crossed for a longsleeve option.

Uhlenhorster Hockey-Club based in Hamburg wear claret and blue.

The president of the club told my wife that the took the colours from the Villa because of the success we had in the 1890s.

A nod then to Villa's glory days in the mid-late 60s....

From what I looked at on the official site, the shorts seemed to be claret

I think you were looking at the wrong thing then. Socks are, but the rest is blue.

Yeah there was a claret shorted training kit or something, which went much better with the blue tops. Oh well.

They'll probably have both options. I think the claret works in contrast with blue, funnily enough!
