Is there anything in that BCC document about removing the piles of rubbish that surround the ground? So many of the complimentary comments about VP from other supporters attending the England game were accompanied by the follow up 'shame the surrounding area is such a sh*t hole'
How many times do you want them to say ‘fuck the bin men’?
I would also question were they talking about the rubbish pile up or the ethnic make-up of the people who live there with those comments. I suspect the latter with some of them.
I go into the ground from that part of town and pass the Witton station.
The biggest contributors to it looking a dump are the dodgy looking car washing place on the corner (and the first thing you see when off the train) and the 2 x garage, tyre sales, breaking yard for cars. There are loads of cars in various states of disrepair on kerbs and all round the front and even in front of the Aston Hotel.
The houses, albeit old, are usually well maintained. There used to be very strict policing of parking there back in the day, as the residents all had to show permits, but nowadays they do not seem to bother hence every possible space is taken up by said garages / breaking yard.
