Interesting, where are these plans? Makes sense given the inner city academy and other infrastructure.

I found the bits about Villa Park sitting in the grounds of Aston Hall and pedestrianisation quite promising. “The setting of Villa Park will be transformed through the integration of green infrastructure, removing the barriers between Aston Park and the Stadium, extending the park and uniting these landmark features”. Also the bit about supporting the club’s proposals as long as any negative effects on the local community can be mitigated.

Seems that BCC have clocked the potential of having two multi-billionaires (plus Atairos), ready, willing and able to invest in a run-down inner-city area.

That all sounds very promising.

So like I dunno, a Sports Third? Something bigger than an imaginary Quarter anyway.
I think go for a Ron Saunders tribute and call it “the sports 110%”. Any “sports quarter” will sound pretty shit in comparison.

I know it’s a little bit up the road but I’ve often wondered why the Council have never thought about creating a devpt zone based around Villa Park and the Alexander Stadium as anchor points in a zone covering Aston/Witton and Perry Barr.

Is there anything in that BCC document about removing the piles of rubbish that surround the ground?  So many of the complimentary comments about VP from other supporters attending the England game were accompanied by the follow up 'shame the surrounding area is such a sh*t hole'

How many times do you want them to say ‘fuck the bin men’?

Cheers for that, thanks
