From Twitter:

I didn't think it was possible to get to 50k by extending the existing stand.

That looks better than I expected. But, is it genuine?
Believe it is

Someone mentioned earlier that they were produced at the same time as the Purslow scheme when they were presumably looking at the different options.  Has that been proven as incorrect?

This all sounds great until they find Doug used aerated concrete, and the stand has the structural integrity of an anthill.

It is quite the opposite - it is built like a brick shit house apparently and that is one of the issues in building using the existing model

Right, so if it is authentic, then it supercedes the 'Purslow Plan'

Don't think Id like a ST up there with the wind and rain blowing in from the back and sides.

There's a simple answer here.. Buy star city. Flatten it and stick a 60k seater in there, just off the motorway, slightly further walk from Aston Station, build a bus station in there job done

I guess they'd have to want to be bought for starters.

Money talks mate. I cant ever see any more then 50k on the present site and there's nowhere else I know to still within the locality that you could build a stadium on... Unless you knocked Alexander Stadium flat and put a dual purpose 60k football / athletics stadium there

Thank you Toronto.  Those extra images use the term “consented scheme” which proves they’re current or at least produced since the last Purslow project.

The language of the documents shows this is all a feasibility study... and the more that is revealed the more the cost goes up. There comes a point when Purslows option begins to make more sense.

Maybe but the extra revenue from staying partially open throughout will massively help the viability.

I’m quite impressed with its simplicity.  The structures will be largely independent which mitigates one of the biggest risks with a retrofit option.  It also introduces the opportunity for off site production which could save on programme and increases the likelihood that the current stand can stay open.

Let's buy the Bull Ring then and knock that down and put it there - we'll have our own train station and hotel then!

There's some more bits and bobs on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/avfc/comments/1j9fp9u/new_north_stand_details/

To save a link click, these are the ones that I don't think have been posted yet ...
