I went to the old Wembley with Villa in 77, 81, 94, 96 and twice in 2000. Each time it was a bigger dump. Looked great from the outside, was an utter shithole inside.

Decent that .

Yeah, I've always liked the way it's done in the tunnel with our major honours. I just don't want it plastered on the back of the North Stand in an effort to put lipstick on a brutalist pig.

The North Stand elevation should be celebrated for what it is , stop papering over it with tat . Clean it up and showcase the unique architecture , it's part of the heritage whether we like it or not .

I went to the old Wembley 3 times with Villa in 94, 96 and 2000, and once with Ireland in 1991. I don't recall it being particularly good or bad, but there was a fair amount of drink taken before each of the games.

I'd much rather watch a football match at Villa Park than the new Wembley though.

I agree that we would be ripping the piss out of anyone else who did what we've done and deservedly so. Silly mistake.

On old Wembley stories, I recall joining a queue for what I thought were the toilets in 96. Turned out to be a queue just to piss against the wall.

Aah! The River Wembley which ran down the steps in the stands.

My first visit was Feb 1971, and I concur with your analysis.

Looking at the seat plans for the top end hospitality packages, if they're only showing the unsold ones, they've sold an awful lot of them.

That would be good news.

All this talk of ManU building a new 100,000 stadium costing £2bn.

Ratcliffe's banging on about a public/private partnership.

ManU are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and domiciled in the Cayman Islands.

The Glazers have taken  £1.1bn out of the club.

Jim Ratcliffe is a tax exile and moving to Monaco is estimated to have saved him £4bn, he's worth £23bn.

They can pay for it between them - not a penny from tax payers.

They can have a funded stadium if they want…just need to ask their near neighbours whether they can share that stadium first
