It's cancelled because ultimately Heck didn't think it would make enough money.

I very much doubt it was anything to do with playing chicken with the council, that would be cutting our nose off to spite our face. It's cancelled because ultimately Heck didn't think it would make enough money.Birmingham is a massive city and Villa are a massive club that's just made it back to the top table. I'm still getting my head around our misfortune to be landed with a CEO so lacking in imagination at this very moment in our history

It still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We are definately staying where we are, with poor relative income, but wont redevelop until we are shit again and the demand drops. Is that about it?And the '17 years to pay for the North Stand' so what? Its just borrowing money isn't it. Whatever we do on the same site or any other is going to take time to repay.
Will all of the rejigging of seats etc. be complete before Foo Fighters come to town?Is there a risk that we may be embarrassed like COOP Live?

Tell them not to wash their hair for a couple of days before the gig - there's no point judging by recent clips of Liam's gigs showing a number of plastic glasses of beer and piss being flung from the crowd. Cigarettes And Alcohol being a particular flying-piss flashpoint.
1.9bn pound Smithfield development by Lendlease finally given the go ahead so no more speculation about us building a new stadium there 😉
