I was under the impression the North Stand redevelopment had been "put on hold".

Nowhere does he say that the project is cancelled, nor "on hold", but his words suggest the latter.

Where do you get that from?  The stand redevelopment has been cancelled.  It's dead.  I very much doubt it was anything to do with playing chicken with the council, that would be cutting our nose off to spite our face.

Isn’t the point here that we’re in a rush for short term income growth ie get to £400m and the club see this as not adding to that equation and would be a distraction for both the playing and commercial side of the club in the short term. I concur that it’s short termist but it doesn’t proclude us doing something once we get to the “sustainable” level to be able to compete for top 4 season after season. It’s disappointing we haven’t gone for it, yep jam tomorrow, but I can see the logic.

The North will be behind the stage.  I don't know if they've started the other stands, but I would have thought they would wait.
