Some of the hospitality places had 100% increases this summer too.
I know a firm who haven't renewed their box in the DE due to the significant cost increase.  They said they couldn't justify it, especially as he has concerns about their sector in the near future.

He mentions the word "products" a lot. It's important we buy his products, people.

Talking to my contact at the club today, bit more info. Nothing especially exciting, but anyway:
They've taken out all but two of the boxes in the Doug Ellis. They've got a brand new premium hospitality area called The Aston which mirrors the old Directors Club (now called the Oak Room) across the way in the Trinity. £16,800 a season if you fancy it. Then there are new lounge offerings in the Doug as well, where the boxes used to be. They've done absolutely nothing at all to the behind glass boxes in the North which are staying exactly as they were before, which seems a bit odd.

Only the very premium corporate hospitality will still get parking at the ground, which backs up the idea that they've got plans for the car parks.

If they are opening up more corporate space to fans in the DE , Hopefully that will make more space in the plebs areas.  (I know I am clutching  :D)

Isn't that The Gas Lamp Lounge , went in there 2 seasons ago, not bad but you are watching the game behind double glazing with piped in crowd noise

How long till he turfs out the filth from their control room?

Surprised about the North, I'd have thought they'd have done a bit more there.

Almost cetrainly the opposite, there will be fewer normal places. You can get more fans in a restaurant than you can individual boxes, and they'll need more seating. And that seating consists of bigger, padded chairs with far more leg room than the usual knees-round-your-chin places in teh DE, so would think they'll be nicking space from the standard season ticket areas.

They’ll still not generate a round coin (or virtual one) from me this season when it comes to buying ‘products’ in the stadium bowl.

I tend to always buy a bottle of water and a drink for the boy. Sometimes a programme for him and on ocassions, the sausage roll can be quite decent.

Spurs sausage rolls are a lot better than ours, it has to be said. Maybe there will be a Guardian think piece on it later in the season in lieu of reporting anything on the Villa team currently 14 points clear at the top of the league.

Could we transfer in a consignment of Spurs' world-class sausage rolls, then get associates of Nas and Wes buy them for, say, £1 million a pop?

It's funny how the Premier League's Fair Market Value scrutiny doesn't extend to what fans pay.

Charge an extra million on stadium naming rights to a multi-billion company - nope! Make hard-working fans fork out £5 for a Pukka pie... that's fine!

I only spend money in the ground if I'm running late for an evening game and don't have time to pick up a sarnie from Tesco.

Never spend in the ground, always Ali B’s or Smokey Joes….you can buy a bottle of coke that you choose and put the lid in your pocket to put back on the bottle once through turnstile.
