It seems to me that the problem we have is that we need to build a new North Stand but can't do so as it would take too much time and lead to a reduced capacity in the meantime.

Has anyone considered just... building it really quickly? Everyone goes on about how great the pyramid builders were but they don't build pyramids anymore, do they?

Stands to reason, then, that there must be a load of highly-skilled, out of work, Egyptian construction workers who could easily knock us up a new stand in a month or two and probably throw in a sphinx, just for a laugh. Surely Nassef could have a word.
Someone on here had a great idea , might have been VillaMole about building the stand on rails behind the current stand and then once ready simply demolish the current stand and slide the new one into place. A bit like how they moved that sarcophagus over the damaged reactor at Chernobyl.
I think that suggestion by VillaMole might just have been tongue in cheek.

Didn’t Wolves do this
You know, build a stand miles away from the actual pitch
Yes. Early 80's . They also curved it as though this was part 1 of a 4 part build. The other 3 sections never materialised.

The people that want us to leave to go to somewhere with better transport links clearly live in a different West Midlands to the one that I've lived in all my life.

Maybe there’s some interpretation issues of what is coming out of the club or is there some kind of constant deceit ?
I feel for all the poor ST holders and what they’re going through, and now our club shop being demolished / twice the size, seems to actually be a reconfiguration of space between shop and ticket office, new roof and exterior cladding replacement based on many images around online today

The biggest problem is transport. Greater Birmingham (see what I did there) is the biggest city in Western Europe not to have a fully integrated underground or tram network. Central government has a blind spot when it comes to Birmingham. There's simply nowhere in this city where there's suitable transport links for a big arena. We can't even make our current stadium any bigger for the same reason. I'm not trying to restart the moving/staying debate god knows we've done that one to death I'm just reiterating the constraints they are working under to advance the development of our club to compete at the highest level. I went to Marseille for an England game and the Orange Velodrome is the best stadium I've ever been to. Marseille France's second city just like Birmingham is the UK's but the difference is the French government recognises this and has ploughed money into the infrastructure. It's a similar distance from the centre as we are and they have built a complete underground tunnel system for traffic to get to and from the stadium which links up to the city centre and to the main national road network. It's light years ahead of what we are stuck with.
