They have told everyone they have ruled that out. Which is exactly what I would be telling everyone.

Also they ain't getting huge sums of money for selling off the land in Aston. It's more the sort of place where you'd buy land, gentrify it, then sell it on at a huge profit (or charge high rents). Which IMO is far more likely given they've built the academy, have said we're not moving, and also Sawiris has a history of doing that iirc.

I wholeheartedly agree with this, I keep saying that no decision is final in business while there is still time to change it.

But I also think that the problems in redeveloping on the existing site are easier to solve than those associated with a new build somewhere else.

It seems to me that the problem we have is that we need to build a new North Stand but can't do so as it would take too much time and lead to a reduced capacity in the meantime.

Has anyone considered just... building it really quickly? Everyone goes on about how great the pyramid builders were but they don't build pyramids anymore, do they?

Stands to reason, then, that there must be a load of highly-skilled, out of work, Egyptian construction workers who could easily knock us up a new stand in a month or two and probably throw in a sphinx, just for a laugh. Surely Nassef could have a word.
Someone on here had a great idea , might have been VillaMole about building the stand on rails behind the current stand and then once ready simply demolish the current stand and slide the new one into place. A bit like how they moved that sarcophagus over the damaged reactor at Chernobyl.
I think that suggestion by VillaMole might just have been tongue in cheek.

Didn’t Wolves do this
You know, build a stand miles away from the actual pitch

Where they failed is they should have turned it to face the other way

This topic goes round and round…

All forum threads go round and round. It's the nature of the beast.

There's a revolving door of posters who come into any given thread, fail to read the backlog of posts, and come in saying something already said before. Then other people say the same responses that have been said before and it all carries on until the next poster comes in and kicks it all off again.
