Heard a lot about additional seats and bowl effect, but can see corners filled in on plans, another communication cock up or Heck change ?

I think the stadium “Bowl” might be an American terminology for the seating area?

Maybe the return of Purslow's BoxPark style idea? Surely they could get something like that in to the North Stand car park?

On the subject of putting a team in place for the future - i found this update on the new board members pretty interesting.

&t=10s

I think it is safe to say that our owners are the real deal and know their stuff

Exciting times ahead

Would you mind outlining what the main points are?
Broadly:
  • All indications are that we're staying at Villa Park for the forseeable, with the intention of building some kind of Man City style sports village in/around Villa Park
  • The people being brought in on the board from Atairos are basically people who've worked with NSWE and/or Chris Heck before
  • Rather than look at Atairos' background, as they're a fairly new company, it's better to look at what those individuals specifically have done. There's a couple of them who come from a background of building large stadia, and a couple from a transport/infrastructure background (as in building transport infrastructure)
  • It's unlikely they'd have been brought in if NSWE felt we were particularly restricted by staying at Villa Park
  • In terms of what they do in the US, there's a big focus on building an 'experience' in the area (for want of a better word!), e.g. retail offerings, etc
I dunno, but it left me feeling rather positive about the whole affair.  I do expect that we'll end up being gouged on prices though.
What land are they going to do any of that with? There's sod all there.

Maybe they are thinking bigger and approaching the council to CP the entire area, houses, businesses etc - surely at the right price only Aston Hall would have a preserve status?

Operators at this level see things we don't and are many moves ahead of the game. To develop anything at and around VP the local landscape has to change dramatically also and at present lets be honest it is a complete shithole. The walk from Witton station is an eyesore and any investment in a new station would be wasted without the surrounding area being developed as well.

That’s what I thought.
There’s also a big area by the church up to the flyover that could be used. That’s if it’s still there, haven’t been that way for some time.
I think we used to own a lot of land down that way, but Ellis sold it if I remember?

Minworth?
No, The Serpentine site. There was a very large Asda there in the 80's.

I think using a compulsory purchase order on one or two streets would be a possibility, The whole area though? Not a chance.

The thing is I still reckon it’s easier to pay off a few companies to shift, than to try and CP potentially hundreds of houses. If you think how upset some of us are at having to change seats, think what it’s like if the club want you to move house! I’d definitely be in the ‘two words and the second one is off’ camp.
…but companies, a bit of a financial incentive and pay for their move and stationery & I reckon there’s a good chance you can strike a reasonable deal for them to go.
