The fact I’m feeling so hard done by shows just how far we’ve come in the last few months. Played very well, just need to be a bit more clinical. And how on earth was that a penalty? When it went to VAR I was actually naive enough to think it might be overruled.
The future certainly does look bright.

Disappointing to lose, especially to such a soft (non-existent) penalty but the bigger picture is how good we look, especially against such strong opposition.

If Matic had been sent off for a second yellow, rather than given his first after four blatant fouls, it might have been a different story.

Don't like hard luck stories especially against these fuckers. I'd rather we had won by 2 very lucky deflected shots.

It’s not a hard luck story though - that’s when you’re the better side and lose, which can happen and why footy is such a great game. No, this is being cheated, and it’s happened against these at least a dozen times in 25 years at a conservative estimate, and I for one am sick of it. It’s like a 36 game season.

Very rarely come on here as you lads and lasses say all that I think but I am so fucked off with that penalty, am so proud to be a Villa fan but surely we can't be too far off VAR going to legal action?

I hate United and all their fans. But I thought it was a penalty. A soft one but it was a penalty. Fortunately with this lockdown business I don't have to see or speak to any plastics for ages. Bring on the spurs, we have it in it to beat them.
You might want to look at the replays doing the rounds. He deliberately trips himself.
Also film of Pogba telling Shaw he should have dived in the box

feeling hard done by against these twats {with a couple of notable exceptions} is the story of my Villa experience

Apparently we have only won there once in the last 40 years

To be fair, Michael Oliver has had a stormer for them tonight.

1) Whatever Pogba did or did not do, Luiz cannot put his hands all over him in the box. Terrible play from a great player.
2) We really need Barkley back in the team; I think/hope that will open some things up for us.

Well it's up to us to change that 25 year narrative.

Definitely soft but if it was the other way round I'd be expecting a penalty

Never a pen.
Typical probably the best United and Chelsea have played all season.
We missed about 5 headers in the second half.  Can’t keep doing this.
We definitely get bullied physically.

That’s ruined the new year for me now.

Last season they got a penalty for fouling Konsa.

This season they get a penalty for fouling themselves.

Improvement from the Referees.

Not sure if I should laugh or cry at that

A lot of their success was down our right again. The issue of traore and cash needs to be resolved.

it’s very difficult to be objective about any game against Utd
simply because you feel your up against forces beyond the control of the players themselves

they are the equivalent of athletes competing against China or Russia during the state sponsored doping scandal
you can do it but all things are not equal
