We just have a really tough stretch of games. The cup game won’t be a walkover like last time as Liverpool won’t just drop all the first team players. Both teams will rotate a lot. But after that the games are just very challenging for different reasons. It will be a great test of how far we’ve come. 12 points will be an excellent haul from this list.

TOTTENHAM H - 1
EVERTON H - 3
MAN CITY A - 0
BURNLEY A - 3
SOUTHAMPTON A - 1
WEST HAM H - 3
ARSENAL H - 1

So Dermot Gallagher says another ref another day my make a different decision - in other words it's not a penalty.  Bizarrely though he also says VAR would never overule it because Michael had the best view, even though its acknowledged Douglas doesn't foul him.  WTF is VAR there for then?

There’s got to be money changing hands. It’s so ingrained.

I wouldn't go that far, but Ferguson certainly built a culture of pressure on referees during his time there, which has continued somewhat with their ex-players being so prevalent on the broadcasting channels.  It means decisions that don't go their way are constantly picked over, whereas decisions that do (like the other night) are just swept under the carpet.

It is more subtle now than when Ferguson blatantly used to intimidate officials and the FA, but it's still there.

But why always us? As I've mentioned, over 5 seasons Bournemouth beat them twice. Huddersfield, fucking Huddersfield, managed to beat them in their two season visit.

Season in, season out. That same old voodoo follows us about.

I read a few years ago that Everton had a worst overall record v Man. United than us in last 30 years as we had plenty of good results v them in early to mid 90s while Everton didn't.

Think Everton had won once at Old Trafford like we have. However they have won four home games v them since August 2012!

Very few teams win much at Old Trafford but to not beat them in a home game for 25 years when it's been played in 22 of those years pretty much defies the laws of physics compared to pretty much everyone else!
