I love the fact that this season we can be shwashbuckling and dig in like tonight. Though Traore was weak link first half but he improved his defensive awareness in the second. The defence was great, don’t think Tyrone gets back in on Friday.
Ben chiilwell just said  we had one Shot and scored, eh, the goal, Mendy saved from grealish first half, McGinn hit the bar, Ramsey just wide, whatever mr chilwell

We do face a dilemma about resting some of our more consistent performers at some stage over the next few games.

Particularly the ones with international commitments.  They've been going at it solid since June this year with just a short break in August.

Jack running on empty in the second half I thought.

Great result, end to end game at times, we deserved a point anyway and that's with our front four not at their best. McGinn best player on pitch by a mile.

Martinez 7, Cash 7, Konsa 8, Hause 7, Targett 8, Luiz 7, McGinn 9, Traore 6, Jack 6, AEG 7, Watkins 5.

Ramsey 7, Davis 6

It's not so long ago that we'd have been looking at a game like this as an exercise in goal difference damage limitation.

Now, even though not at our best tonight, we look to have the strength, desire and confidence to go toe to toe, and one thing I loved about our goal is that we resisted any thought of kicking the ball into touch with them having a player down 'injured.'

AEG is the first villa player to score in 3 successive premier league games since ....(no cheating)?

You'd imagine it would be Benteke but will go for a wildcard and guess Tom Cleverley.

I was thinking Hendrie.

I asked before, but if Trez and Barkley come back, who could you sit at this point? Traore is probably the first man out, but you would have to keep everyone else in with their current form.  Especially AEG.

Terrific performance, I thought the central defenders were brilliant and the chasing and harrying from the whole team was ace.  We looked knackered at the end though

Well, bugger me. Villa top five with a million games in hand and I get something right. And people said 2020 was shit?

After what has been a tumultuous year for everyone, and certainly for the club given where we appeared to be headed, to end it 5th in the PL, 3 points back with 2 games in hand on Leicester in 2nd, with a considerably better GD is simply astonishing.

Excellent team performance. Love having the assurance of Emi at the back. I'm also wondering when was the last time we had a pair of full backs as good as Cash and Targett?

We matched what was for me, the best squad in the league.

There goal should stand every day of the week, there should be no issue with it, but at the same time Ollie should be on 2 more goals than he is now.

Neither team looked like they were better than the other, Chelsea for me are the best squad in the league, I will take us matching them every day of the week.
