Well earned point. Looked overrun at times but could easily have nicked it ourselves. Proud of the lads.

AEG is the first villa player to score in 3 successive premier league games since ....(no cheating)?

Dean Saunders?

Dion Dublin?

Heskey ?

Gabby?

Is it a trick question like when Coventry City had never won the FA Cup ?

Tremendous effort. Wasn't quite at it in the first half but got at them straight from the kick off in the second half. Great point and a fair result.

Good result, happy with the point.

First half Cash and Traore were being exposed too often for my liking and Hause kept hoofing it back to Chelsea. Jack also seemed a little off his normal high standard.

Second half much better, and its a sign of how far we have come that I was disappointed after we scored when we seemed to go at them for a few minutes, but then backed off.

I know it's a cliche, but we would have lost that game last season.

What is especially pleasing is that at no time in the second half were we hanging on, we looked like we believed we could win it. We really are a club on the up.

Mature performance tonight. Let the lads rest for a couple of days and let’s go and win at Old Trafford.

Thought that the ref let the game flow pretty well, but in doing so seemed happy to let quite a few late tackles go (there wereb two in the immediate build up to McGinn's shot that hit the bar) without then going back to either reprimand or book the offender.

If he had done so then I'm sure Chelsea would have suffered - despite his apparent leniency he blew for 16 fouls by them against 3 by Villa. Mind you, if he had got the card out perhaps McGinn, Jack or Targett might have received a 5th yellow.

And another thing. You can be sure that had Ollie scored a similar goal to Giroud's VAR would  have chalked it off.
