He is absolute midtable drek as well. The difference between him and Emi is staggering.

While none of his saves yesterday required him to be the absolute best version of Emi, he was superb overall. Yeh there was a bit of a fumble at the start but on biggest stage he did his part to keep the score respectable. Juventus can fuck right off with their pathetic offers.

Selling Emi would be madness. There's been enough disruption to the squad already. Vidagany stated recently that he isn't for sale, although they said similar about Morgan Rogers. We don't need the money now.

As Percy said, he’s not just important to us as a goalkeeper, he’s important as a playmaker, to the way we play. He is way more important than keeping the ball out of the net.

On top of that, he’s a proven winner and off the pitch, a leader.

Mings was always similar. As is SJM.

"Emi Martínez considering Argentina future after World Cup final heartbreak"

Quote
Martínez wrote: "I dreamed of winning it again; I dreamed of bringing it back to Argentina and making history once more.

"Honestly, the pain is hard to put into words. Now I have to reflect on many things, see how to move forward, and decide if it's time to step aside.

"I am truly sorry. I gave it my all to help my country and my teammates."

I don't think it was his fault, really.

Nope, it was that racist twat Enzo who stupidly got himself sent off. You can't really play with eleven men behind the ball if you only have ten of them.

The attitude of most of the outfield players was to blame, they didn’t look interested in playing football. They were a disgrace.

Tell them to get in their Delorean, go back a few years and bring us peak Zidane, Platini, del Piero and Cannavaro.  Then we'll talk.

Don't disagree, but still not impossible they might have got away with it and shitfested their way to a penalties win if not for his stupidity.

MOTM performance. The only Argentine who deserved to be on the winning side.

Just about the only one to come out of the debacle with any credit (maybe Leo as well, but I think that he'd run out of steam after the semi).

Comes to something when there's all sorts of shenanigans going on in a game, and Emi is not involved.

Emi's kind of mindgames / time-wasting shithousery is no longer possible under the new laws and yet kicking the shit out of the opposition is still handled leniently

Didn't like his shirtless aggression to the Spanish bench after the game though
