He’s still a phenomenal keeper. It will happen eventually but I’ll still be gutted when he leaves.

if Juve are playing silly beggers about paying £10mil for him, then I think we keep him for the next 2 seasons, play him then he can go on a free. What's the point in taking just a few million for him, only to have to spend £30-50mil+ to get a replacement in. Yeah, he's on high wages, but so he should be.

He is one of best players, elite at world level. We shouldn’t consider selling unless it’s a very compelling offer, because replacing him is so hard and I suspect he’s still got a few top years left.

Someone I know who knows the family through the kids football reckons he'd be shocked if he wanted off now, and Buendia being back has been a big factor as the families are close.

So there you go.

I don’t know whether he will stay or go, but I do know you rarely cry at the prospect of leaving somewhere if you’re adamant you want to escape.

He looked very happy asking Manzambi if he was coming to the Villa and getting a "yeah" after the game last night. Not sure why he'd care if ye was off.

John Townley on the Agent Dibu story:

Johan Manzambi spoke with Emi Martinez after Switzerland were beaten by Argentina in Kansas, with the goalkeeper ending their conversation with a beaming smile, pointing at himself, and saying: "Going to Villa?!" An exciting piece of business now being finalised.
