Dunno why the Tarquins would wanna abuse him, TBH.

Always seems a good bet to throw in a few for them when they need it.

At the end of this season it's time to say goodbye to world's number 1. Let's hope he has a good world cup and one of the Saudi clubs turn up with £40M.

He’s going to be very hard to replace. Even this season he’s pulled off some saves which seem superhuman. He’s not commanding from corners, but looking at the stats last night, suddenly a lot teams this season look very strong and are having success. I wonder when or what was said to the referees, but it’s certainly changed. It could be a massive mistake shopping in Europe for a keeper, as I’m pretty sure they are far more protected. Not that I watch much football other than Villa.

Is it the same there?

Remember the goal we had disallowed against Juve last season? Contrast and compare that to what is happening every game during corners over here at the moment.

I first noticed Martinez at corners at home to Burnley as I was in the Witton End. He was focused on clearing the Burnley player under his nose and lost concentration to be beaten by a close range header. It feels like teams have decided to stick the ball under the bar and provoke chaos as we don't have enough giants to clear the ball or give Martinez a free run to catch.

Dyche will definitely be looking to exploit this.

My dad said that was Man Utd’s only tactic last night. They had Cuhna who strikes the ball so well, like Dougie could and dropping it under the bar with their players pushing and shoving the keeper on every delivery. It said it was unbelievable how may times the ref just lets it happen.

It does seem pretty stark that we have gone from not being able to touch keepers, to grappling with them with no middle part.

Its daft, as was the wrestling match between James and Rogers in the last game.

I do wonder what’s been said to the clubs if anything has at all? If has been addressed it’s something the keepers need schooling in fast.

Is it three goals now we’ve let in, Martinez twice and Bizot and they have looked liked frightened rabbits from the corners.

Plus the Burnley one, as mentioned by me and someone else earlier in the thread. Add that to Leeds (Bizot), Chelsea and last night.

More than twice. Burnley, Leeds, Chelsea and Arsenal. They better sort it out as everyone will be at it now.

Wasn’t it Bizot at Leeds?

It was Bizot at Leeds.

We really need to work on it. I said last night, sooner or later a keeper is going to his have to punch in that direction and if he takes out a player it’s going to be carnage.

Just part of their petulance and entitlement. It makes them feel silly that A. He's left and had a fantastic career and B. He was under their nose the whole time but they weren't smart enough to see it.

They spent the last 10 minutes singing 'you're just a shit (name of Arse keeper) plus booing him throughout the game every time he touched the ball.

He's built a career on winding the opposition up, he can hardly complain. We'd hate him if he played for anyone else. He even did some shithousery in the tunnel before the game last night. I think it's great but don't blame opposition fans for giving it to him.
