Watching that double save again it’s going to be very hard for another keeper to beat Emi to save of the season. Incredible reflexes.

Clough would always justify the signing of Shilton (arguably the highest-paid player of his time) by pointing out that he was worth at least ten points a season.

Emi is the same for us.

I think Clough said twelve points a season. This was when it was two points for a win.

I did say 'at least'.

Your pointing out the difference between a win than and now is well made.

Yes, he cost us points at Anfield but he has made game changing/ winning saves on multiple occasions this season. Saves that most keepers don’t make.

Might be straying into conspiracy theory territory, but I'm struggling to accept that he got injured in the warm up again.  It's surely a once in.career freak occurrence, yet it seems to have happened to Martinez a few times now.  I did find myself wondering tonight if it's mind games by Unai and he wants to leave the announcement that he's not playing as late as possible so tje opposition don't get a boost.

Unai said he felt pain in his back. I don’t see any reason to disbelieve him. With a really good back up no point making it worse. With treatment I’m sure we will see him on Saturday vs Arsenal.

You're mad. Stop eating cheese would be my recommendation.

What would be the reason?

He obviously wants to play. There are no internationals any time soon and he won't be leaving in January so what's the point?

Tom isn't stating he wasn't injured, just that he believes Martinez was already injured on Tuesday, so we dragged him all the way down to Brighton to stop in a hotel overnight, then brought him to the stadium just to play mind games with the child on the Brighton bench by only giving them 20 mins notice that Martinez wouldn't be playing.

Giving Bizot a game.  As I said, it's straying into conspiracy theory, but getting injured in tne warm up is such a rare occurrence yet it has happened multiple times now.  ⁷

It's possible that he isn't 'getting injured in the warm-up', but has an enduring back problem that gives him acute problems from time to time, and those symptoms become apparent in the warm-up.

I don't think it is getting injured as such. More like it is similar to Watkins that an issue is being nursed and sometimes it is too much for him to play on without risk of causing more long term damage. When that happens they make the call early so he can play next match.

Edit: As SE beat me to with his faster more accurate typing.
