Great goalkeeper who is not as good as he was. Whatever happened with the Man Utd thing needs to be put to bed. Personally I’d let him go and put Bizot in.

And who would you suggest as a back up keeper? Martinez is still the number one.

Bizot has impressed but he's 34, he's not the future.

Exactly, he's perfect as an experienced option to cover whilst we work on developing the youngsters. I really like the look of Proctor and he does appear to be thge one that Emery likes as well.

A pretty young 34 though in terms of games he's actually played - he's played the equivalent of around ten seasons.

I'd be pretty surprised if he leaves when his current (end of next season) deal ends.

Maybe, but the drop off could come at any point when a player hits their mid-thirties, and you don't really want to risk that happening whilst they're your first choice keeper.

Oh sure. But in terms of "the future", he could easily be an important part of our next three or so years.

Ffs. I genuinely assumed he was about 25.

He's a high-end journeyman - perfect for the cover role.

Royal Antwerp director of football Marc Overmars

“We had a deal with Aston Villa, but Emi Martínez still had to leave, and Senne Lammens didn’t want to go there. Only then did Manchester United make their first offer. Lower than Aston Villa. Four hours later, we finally reached an agreement.”

So we ended up with one of the best keepers in the world and one of the best back ups in the PL. And didn’t sign a player who didn’t want to come here and ended up and those twats Man U. Enjoy losing a lot Senne.

The crowd haven’t forgiven Emi yet. He made two great saves in the first half and no sign of the ‘worlds no one’ being sung.
My sons also convinced himself he’s dicking around with the euro games not to get cup tied, which I’ve told him is nonsense…..

Based on his cack-handed attempts to leave in the summer, have we considered that he is dicking around to not get cup-tied, but doesn't know that the rules have changed and he doesn't need to do that.

Maybe? But being as we managed to play both Rashford and Asensio in our teams might have shown him last season that there is no cup-tied for European competition.

Although he instagrammed out the picture of the bruise from the calf injury he picked up on Thursday. Obviously at the time they didn't know the extent of it so didn't want to risk causing more damage until the scan/treatment could confirm so he was withdrawn.

I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. I don't really think that he and his agent don't know this.
