Compared to self obsessed gobshites platforming themselves on Facespace for likes, yeah I'd say so.

Fuck Martinez, the absolute rat. Hes got a long fucking road back this season before we fire his kermit the frog backside out of the club next summer.
I’d say if he plays the next game, plays a blinder, makes some great saves, maybe even saves a pen like his debut, thats about as long as the long road back gets.

Exactly. Some of this “fuck the rat” posturing will fold the first time he does anything to remind us of why we love him so much.

Grown fucking adults spouting teenage invective. Grow up.

I will be very surprised if the first time he touches the ball he isn't applauded.

That's the response I would expect from the Vila faithful, and I started going to VP in 1966.

Ashley Young went to Manure and got hammered when playing for United at Villa Park. He eventually returned to Villa and quickly became a fan favourite again.....

My position.

I don’t know how much his thinking he will move

a) originates in him, and his wanting to move on, or
b) how much the club being realistic about the convenience of moving on an aging highest earner at maximum value.

It would have made some sad cold sense if it was the latter.

What I do know is he has been key to our resurgence, has talked us up by expressing loyalty at times that were beyond the vision of many of us, and not agitating for a move previously - when it would not have suited us - has enabled us to build and attract better players, sit closer to the top table.

Whichever it was, he’s here and in the end is club before player and I need him to be at his best for us, and so I’ll be a supporter and do that.

I think if anyone deserves ire it’s Man U who appear to have screwed him over quite badly.

I think all this has parallels with the Ramsey exit / Mings comments about not tolerating bad words being said against the player, ‘you don’t know the half of it’ exit.

So for me no change, I’ve not read bad quotes by him, his tears suggest an emotional connection.

We need him to be his best, for that I reckon it’ll help him to be loved
