I hope he got a Newton Heath bedspread and matching lampshade for his bedroom.

He did but it's being kept for Christmas now.

Luckily, we don't play the mancs until December... will he play?

He's forever tarnished his legacy for me. He could single-handedly win us the Europa League and I still wouldn't fully forgive him.

Having said that he's quite clearly our best goalkeeper and I'm pretty sure Unai/the players are less bitter and vindictive than I am, so he very obviously has to play until January at least.

I loved the bloke but after this I wish the move had stuck because this just isn't going to help the harmony of the club. I do think his reception next game will be mixed to put it mildly. I think practicality will trump emotion here and it will eventually be a grudging acceptance but he fucked up big time and we won't forget.

I couldn’t actually care less about it now.  He’s still here and should play if Emery decides he’s a better bet than Bizot.  I won’t boo, but it’ll never be quite the same.

When we play them if he shithouses and they sky a penalty we'll love him, if he fumbles one in again or turns into Boris Johnson again he'll be battered.

I think we all need to pull together after such a shit start. He's very likely here until New Year, (whether he likes it or not) so he needs to get his head down and pull a few worldy performances between now and then in order to facilitate getting a move that suits all parties.

He has a few bridges to build and his first meet up with the rest of the squad will be uncomfortable but they are all professionals and hopefully the likes of SJM and Tyrone will a) give him a verbal kick up the arse and more importantly after that, b) draw a line under that and all can move forward.

I'm pissed off with his antics but when he puts the jersey back on, just get his head down and put 100% in. Barry did, Southgate did, he can.

His birthday today ,  I wonder if he is up to much ?

I assume he spent the night-flight home in a mood listening to the song Dishes. It will have struck a chord...

A man told me to beware of 33, he said "It was not an easy time for me." But I'll get through, even though I've got no miracles to show you...

I think there's been ample reappraisal of it since such that it is now viewed as a flawed masterpiece.

As for Emi, let's see what he does for an encore.

Maybe a long overdue dose of humble pie will sort Emi out. His form was average enough last season, especially for a player of his quality. He couldn't even persuade Man United to push for him in the end. He's been distracted for a while, got away with a clanger at Brentford too, so we just need him to refocus.

Emery's going to have to take this one on the chin I'm afraid and bring him back into the fold. The squad looks like it could do with a couple of nights on the piss in all honesty. Settle a few differences if needs be and emerge stronger for it.

Ginny knows the best places in Dublin (let's be honest, he sticks to Temple Bar) if they want to let loose and bond like they did in their early days together in the communal team bathtubs at Bodymoor.

A lot of the players don't drink. This would be a problem for me as a Premier League manager because I know of no method of conflict resolution that isn't 'let's have a pint/bottle of wine'. If not for this one achilles heel...ah, life is deeply unfair.

He's not Ed Miliband, though he has the same initials.
