Controversial goalkeeper heading back to club with tail between legs after failing to secure deadline-day transfer to Manchester United”

Total rubbish from Law.  The only trashing has been done by Emery and his mates who have hawking him to other clubs all Summer.  Just like with Duran, a big personality which Emery doesn't want because he can't handle them

You’d have thought BC Villain would be still out celebrating his club selling more beer than all the other midland clubs combined.

How he has continued to carry on posting on this site is beyond me.

Let's all agree not to quote or reference him from now on. It's what I'm going to do, even if I want to rip the piss out of him, it's probably what he wants. So this is my final post referencing the cu...*

*hey, I could be saying 'cutie pie'.

Emiliano Martinez misses out on Manchester United move as deadline day offer never arrives

Emiliano Martinez spent transfer deadline day at Aston Villa’s training ground, Bodymoor Heath, waiting for a call about a move to Manchester United that never came.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper, 32, had made little secret of his desire to move to Old Trafford this summer and even called on his Argentina team-mate, United defender Lisandro Martinez, to try to advocate for him with people at United, which he duly did.

Emi Martinez also spoke to Ruben Amorim in June and July about a prospective move, with the United head coach understood to feel the World Cup winner’s character and experience would be beneficial for his side, according to people familiar with discussions, who will remain anonymous to protect relationships.

But no formal approach was made until Martinez returned to Birmingham for pre-season, when Villa received a phone call enquiring about a loan deal.

The prospective deal did not progress beyond that, however, and on deadline day United instead agreed a deal to sign Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. The Belgian, 23, is a very different profile to Martinez and has been brought in as competition for Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir while he continues to develop.

A move for Martinez also looked very difficult in pure financial terms. He already earns more than Onana based on his contract signed last summer, running to 2029, and Villa would have demanded a transfer fee in excess of £30million.

With Monday’s 7pm GMT deadline approaching, Martinez finally left Villa’s training ground to fly to Argentina and join up with Lionel Scaloni’s squad ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Ecuador.

Manchester United, Aston Villa and Martinez’s camp declined to comment.

As ever, you talk with authority about something you know nothing about.

Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.

I’d like to know what led to him wanting to move to Man U in the summer. There is a story behind the story. Who initiated it? His side or the club? Was it always Man U or any other club? Man U only would seem very odd given his age and the fact they are a disaster. The club, the owners, the manager, the chaos amongst the players. Not even in Europe. There is more to this story.

Maybe but despite everything I’m glad he’s staying.

There are still only a handful of goalkeepers I’d swap him for in the world and I can’t say that about anyone else.
