Yep, you can't win goal/save of the season if it didn't get the team anything, in my arrogant opinion. See McGinn, John Vs Sheffield Wednesday.

Emi's stop against Nottingham Forest has been voted the Premier League's Save of the Season for 2024/25 🥇

Saw it again this week, an incredible save.

The way I am currently feeling about our Emi, is that if he knocked on my door and asked for a cup of tea, he would get one, but he can't be expecting any biscuits.

Sustenance, but definitely not a chocolate-hobnob related taste treat.

 :'(
He’d get a cup of tea (Morrisons best assam) and I’d give him a couple of the posh biscuits (lu cinnamon ones) to dunk in it. I like Emi, I think he’s great. And I bet he’d not get the level of tea and biscuits he’d get from me off any rubbish Spanish club’s fan base so he’d realise he’s only ever got to be a Villa player

It is a superb stop, but I think his save against Juventus was even better.

The save from Kane against Bayern wasn't bad either.

That save was proper Gordon Banks against Pele. He got down so fast from such close proximity with players in front of him. How he saw it let alone save it is hard to comprehend. As we all have said such a shame we went on to lose that game late on. Hindsight being undefeated even a point means we are playing CL football next season.

But he only had to make that save because of Torres. If Mings.............

Speaking to the press after reporting for international duty, Martínez stated: "My future? I don't know. I'm here to play for the national team, and that's all I care about right now.

"Do I want to change clubs? The transfer market has just opened, so there's still a lot to do."

I'll take that as I'll go if there's a better offer than Villa on the table, but I don't want to say anything really until it's all signed, sealed and delivered.

A simple no I'm staying put would have sufficed if his heart was set on staying.

Think he'll be gone by end of June.

Sort of interview you give when you know you're leaving shortly.

I think it's a mix of club saying we might have to sell you and him saying I want champions league football every season. Sorry for the heresy but I just don't think he's world's number one , maybe some big games but not consistent and then there's the shenanigans. Think it's time for someone younger with a point to prove.

Honestly, I'm a tad disappointed that Kelleher is signing for Brentford, he'd have been good with us.

Looks like Garcia, highly rated and strongly linked with us as Emi’s replacement, is joining Barcelona.
