I don't care who they are. Once they ask to leave us after we have made them incredibly wealthy (and in his case rescued him from Arsenal's reserves) they become twats.

Ignoring all they have done on the pitch for us?

It is absolute, sweeping generalisation isn't it? Absolute rubbish.

It's not like we 'rescued' him because he had no other options ... he probably would have gone elsewhere and made shitloads of money anyway!!
In the monied world of Premier League football, I'm glad we made him rich and not some other club. In these times of plastic football, maverick players like Martinez are a beacon of light.

Pretty sure he wasn’t exactly struggling on minimum wage on Arsenal’s bench.

He'd have been earning well by our standards, as a player who was constantly sent on loan to the lower leagues he won't have been on big football money. That probably only started with his last contract with us.

Chevalier looked quite good when we played Lille and he's only 23.
Comes with a bit of a reputation.
Apparently he likes Lille girls.

Bravo.

Brings memories of Peter Sellers in a Pink Panther film disguised as Toulouse Lautrec singing, Thank heaven for little girls, They keep on getting smaller everyday…

I usually just ignore your snidey posts rubbishing another poster's valid opinion but I will make an exception for you this time.

For 35 years we have watched our star players bail out just when things are clicking into place.

It's not like Emi has had 5 years under a no-hoper like Lambert, Sherwood or gerrard. We have a world class manager and for two seasons in a row we have come within about three or four results of a genuine tilt at the title. We have also played two semi-finals. He said in his own presser when he signed the contract that it would be easy to just do a Grealish and try glory somewhere else.

If Emi can't see that one more push next season could end in glory then I am sorry but I am pissed off. But of course that's just 'rubbish' as far as Mr Snide is concerned.

Actually I’d say more 45 years for myself. Still, I haven’t been too angry since I was in my late teens, early twenties when a player leaves. Now, I’m just a little sad for a bit. I’m more Mr Grown Up now I suppose.

I understand Villan82's frustration but I do not share it.

It looks like we have to sell so someone will have to go. I won't hate Emi. He's shown us more loyalty than Ratboy did and he has had no reason to. I don't expect it from non-locals who didn't grow up supporting the club (so he says).

Sit deep and play through the wings. Early balls into the box. Get to work, Monchi.
